Donna J. Smith

Donna has more than twenty years of experience in accounting, taxation, consulting and business management. She joined Stivers & Associates, PSC in February 1998 and became a partner in 2001. In late 2011, Stivers & Associates, PSC reorganized into four separate firms, two of which would later re-group as SKW CPAs & Advisors, PLLC.. Donna works with a wide selection of companies and individuals in the areas of business valuation, business consulting, information technology, taxation and numerous other financial services. 

The varied nature of her clientele has required that Donna become proficient in numerous areas of taxation and financial reporting. Every industry and individual has unique needs that require someone with good communication skills and an understanding of a wide spectrum of businesses, as well as knowledge and understanding of tax laws. Donna has worked with clients in industries including, but not limited to, health care, commercial and residential construction, sales and service, agriculture, equine, crop and livestock production, restaurants, charitable and non-profit organizations, labor unions, retail trade, manufacturing, information technology, real estate, law firms and advertising agencies.

Donna is an expert in the areas of business valuation and technology. She received certifications from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in the areas of Business Valuation (ABV) in 2008 and Information Technology (CITP) in 2000. In order to obtain these certifications, the AICPA requires proof of training, proficiency, experience and continuing education. Accordingly, there are only fifty-four (54) persons who hold the ABV credential and only thirty-one (31) persons who hold the CITP in the state of Kentucky. Donna is the only person in Kentucky to hold both of these credentials and has combined her expertise in both fields to allow her to analyze computerized data for litigation support purposes.

Kelley Kirk

CPA

Kelley began her career working at Stivers & Associates, PSC, CPAs in 2003. In 2011, she became a partner in Webster & Kirk, PLLC. In her years working in public accounting she has gained experience in a variety of areas including tax projection and preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships and non-profit organizations. Kelley also has extensive experience in attest services including audits of employee benefit plans and non-profit organizations, reviews and compilations. She is also experienced in payroll, bookkeeping and other general business matters.

Jimmy Webster

CPA

Jimmy began his public accounting career in July, 1978 with Stivers & Associates, PSC, CPAs, a local accounting firm in Lexington as a staff accountant. Over the next forty years his job descriptions changed to senior accountant, tax manager, and partner. He was managing partner in 2012 when Stivers & Associates was dissolved. Jimmy's many years of experience allow us to assist our clients in a wide range of accounting, auditing, income tax preparation and planning, estate tax matters, and business administration needs.

Tyler Byrge

CPA

Tyler joined our firm in November 2016. In July 2019, he became partner. He has a wide range of experience in tax planning, consulting, and preparation for a variety of individuals and businesses, as well as non-profits, estates and trusts. He began his public accounting career with an internship during his undergraduate studies. Shortly after earning his bachelor's degree, he began a full-time position in public accounting and went on to sit for the CPA exam, which he successfully completed a year later. Using his experience and expertise through one-on-one relationships, he has helped many individuals and businesses work through their accounting needs.

Thomas graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2014 with Bachelors’ degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. He joined our team in January 2015 and has gained experience in a variety of accounting areas. These areas include individual and corporate tax preparation as well as audits of non-profit organizations and employee benefit plans.

Pam Wells

Pam has been a part of our team for over 30 years. She provides full administrative support to all staff and partners. She’s the friendly voice you hear and face you see when calling or visiting our office. As well as being the administrative support for our office, she also provides both bookkeeping and payroll services to our clients. Pam can be relied on to get the job done, handle constant deadlines, and keep things rolling in the office with a great attitude.
